For what it is (i.e. a true dive of a neighborhood diner), Monty's is as good as it gets. Nestled comfortably next to the not-so-comfortable-looking Seville Motel block (a great hang-out if you are lonely, in need of company, and are willing to pay for it), not only is the location perfect for a dive, but the interior consists almost exclusively of the open kitchen and the bar with bolted-to-the-floor barstools, completing the equation. A couple of tables sit beside the windows for those seeking an outward-looking vista: all the better to take in the luxuriant parking lot and the thousands of jalopies choking their way down Woodward Ave. If the above description discourages you, well, you're clearly not the diner type. But even if you are discouraged, once you walk through the doorways, you'll find shelter from the sad storm outside and smile. It's your first time here, and everybody already knows your name. Gayle, who was working this Easter morning with Albanian Alex (the owner), aptly paralleled the ambiance of Monty's with that of the Bull & Finch Pub in Boston (where Cheers was ostensibly set--it was the exterior model that all the shots were taken of--the inside was, of course, a set). I walked in here for the first time today and left knowing all of the staff's names, and I'm confident that when I come back, they'll remember mine. In other words, if you're feeling lonely, but not for sex, or you're just kinda hungry for some good eats, keep walking through the Seville parking lot and eat at Monty's: it's cheaper, legal, and safe. You probably want to know about the food, too, since you're likely going to be eating here. I suspect I need not remind you--this is diner food, which means breakfast food and your assortment of coney-island-type fare. They serve breakfast all day, and I can't imagine coming here for any other type of food, except maybe a burger (which I can't vouch for, but will probably have next time I'm craving some flesh). It's hard to really fuck up breakfast food, but there's definitely still a wide range of quality and ability when it comes to serving up over-easy eggs, omelets, and hashbrowns. The portions here are generous, the ratio of grease to food acceptable, the prices rock-bottom (The early-bird-special is a must--I don't remember the details because looking at how much food I could purchase for $3 dollars was intoxicating), and the eggs perfectly cooked. I know this because my sister had a minced-ham hash with over-easy eggs on top and the huevos were cooked perfectly. I was a bit more adventurous. Have you ever heard of a chicken-salad omelet? Me either. It sounds revolting, frankly, but Gayle swung my vote from corned-beef hash to this weird medley of chicken-salad-inside-a-veggie-omelet and it was delicious. It's not on the menu but it will be soon, so if you want to enjoy the cool factor associated with ordering off-menu, you'd better hustle over to Monty's quick. The omelet was probably 3 eggs into which were mixed tomatoes and onions (salt, pepper, etc.). Inside I found a creamy, warmed-up chicken salad concoction and other vegetables, plus swiss cheese. Again, I realize that this sounds very strange, and I've never seen such an item offered anywhere else, but I would (and will) happily eat this again. I guess it's a sort of secret specialty here. They also offered fried matzah with scrambled eggs and veggies, which is a lot like chilaquiles, but Jewish (sort of, unless you get it with ham, which is really good but no longer particularly Jewish). I fully intend to take my little sister here on my way to work, before she has to go to school in the morning. It's the kind of place where you could bring your kid sister or nurse a hangover and feel completely comfortable and content. Despite the drab surroundings, Monty's glitters like a silver dollar buried under playground woodchips, sits there as though it had jumped out of an unsuspecting boy's torn jeans pocket and is sort of indifferent as to whether it gets picked up by someone else--it's happy to be close to the earth. Monty's has heart. It has it's own heart, and now it has a piece of mine too.

A very small but clean diner attached to a run down motel off busy Woodward Avenue. Very cramped and limited seating. The staff is friendly and fast. The breakfast food is really great quality tasty diner food. My wife says the hash browns are the best she has ever had. Good value for the money. The one slightly odd thing is they do not have a soda pop machine, so they serve from cans. Fresh squeezed OJ, from a machine on the counter in front of you. Strongly recommend.

I'm fairly new to Monty's Grill. Just had my 2nd visit this week. This place is exactly what I want in a diner, pub, or restaurant. The service is friendly and fast, The food is really good, and the prices are decent. On my first visit, I let the waitress order for me. She brought me a BBQ burger with onion rings. When considering the price and taste, it isn't that far off from a Red Coat burger. Nice thick patty, toasted bun and standard toppings based on burger. I'm not a huge fan of onion rings but I found myself going back and continuously eating them. This place is definitely a regulars place as everyone seems to know everyone. Nothing wrong with this. The burger is good enough for me to order the exact same one on my last visit...Yeah, and I got the onion rings again. I did read that from 7-9 all omelettes are 4.99. I believe omelettes come with hash browns and toast. I can see myself becoming a regular.

My wife and I love Monty's Grill for both breakfast and lunch. Alex makes all of Monty's meats from scratch. From corned beef to gyro meat to prime Angus beef for the burgers - all of the food is of the highest quality and scratch made. You owe it to yourself to try it at least once before listening to any of the negative reviews. Quite a few Yelpers left less than five stars for this amazing diner because of a lack of seating. Monty's may only have seating for 30 or less, but it boasts amazing food. If it was a bigger establishment, Alex wouldn't be able to make amazing, scratch-made breakfast and lunch meals! Alex will always greet you with a smile. He will most likely remember your name and what you like to eat within a few visits. Try it. You'll love it!

Cool little dive spot with classic food. This spot is small, but big on personality. The staff is very friendly. Seriously this place looks like it could be on episode of Drive Ins, Diners, & Dives. I kept waiting for Guy to walk of the back. I ordered the Broadway burger (cheese, bacon, & bbq sauce) with fries. Nothing extra special about it, but was definitely tasty. I recommend this spot especially after a long night of hanging out. If you visit please leave the kids at home. Not a family restaurant type of place. If you're overly bougie this isn't the place for you either. Remember it's a DIVE!

Totally agree with everyone else- I would have never tried this diner at a sleazy motel had I not read the reviews, but we will definitely be returning! The clam chowder was EXCELLENT, and the onion rings were top notch as well. My boyfriend loved his mini breakfast platter, which wasn't very mini at all.

Go ahead and add me to the list of Monty's customers that have been coming here for a long time. First started coming here with my family in the mid-80's. It was also a favorite haunt while skipping class (High School) in the mid-90's. While I remain nostalgic for the bacon-wrapped hot dog of glory of yesterday (aka the Swanky Franky), I can say with confidence that the food at Monty's has never been better than it has since Alex took over the place. He puts a lot of TLC into the menu and into every single dish that he prepares. You can taste the love as well as the quality of the ingredients used. Monty's is now an old-school classic small diner with just the right amount of new-school flair. Good honest atmosphere and good honest food. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Corned Beef Hash is exceptional. So are the Omelettes. If you enjoy the corned beef hash, let me recommend the corned beef & swiss omelette. Or the gyro omelette. Or any of Alex's omelettes, really. They are exceptional. And if you come in between 7a-9a on M-F the omelettes are all only $4.95! That's a total steal for the early-birds. They'll run you a couple bucks or so more during regular hours and are still a good deal even at the normal price. I haven't tried anything off Alex's lunch menu yet but everything looks great and I will definitely get around to trying it one of these days. If you've driven past this place 1,000 times and always wondered what's inside, I encourage you to stop wondering and stop in. You won't be disappointed.

A classic! A tiny spot - a little tired but clean - or maybe it felt tired because it's attached to a run down (is it really still operating?) motel off busy Woodward Avenue. Exactly what I was looking for - homemade CB hash and nicely executed over easy eggs. Good coffee, nice service - a great diner experience. Was there on a Tuesday late morning - so no problem getting a seat.

Monty's is connected to the Seville motel that looks pretty dumpy, and weirdly enough there are no vacancy's. The dinner it's self was great, the waitress was good and my omelette was very tasty the hashbrowns were good and the toast was also good. Very filling with that down home feeling. I will definitely be back. Give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed, I wasn't.

Monty's- If my life was Seinfeld and I was Seinfeld and Royal Oak was New York City and my Dogs were George Costanza and Elaine Bennis then Monty's would be my Monk's. I love this place. It makes me feel like I'm a character in a sitcom or a movie. Alex, the proprietor, the cook, the psychologist, the confidant, the server, the man in charge has a cult-like following where everyone knows his name. Keep your eyes open when you're driving up Woodward for this one. You might miss it. Monty's with the yellow trim is really incognito in the most charming way a tiny little coney attached to a sleazy looking 60s box motel in Metro Detroit can be. And it's right up the street from me. I'm here all the time. Plus, the food is usually pretty good. I'm partial to rare sliders, the turkey club, the hand-dipped onion rings, and stack of chocolate chip pancakes. There is a fantastic secret menu too, but we don't talk about things like that round here.

I may have never stopped at this small diner, or really noticed it to stop, if not for reading the yelp reviews. And I'm glad I did. I was looking for a greasy-diner-type breakfast place along with some friends. We wanted somewhere where we did not have to wait at least a half hour on a Sunday (not an easy feat in this area). From the outside, the place looks sketchy, attached to a cheap motel. Inside, however, it is a pleasant, quite small, diner. The few tables are high tops that seat two. The four of us sat at the counter. The young waitresses were friendly and the service was good. The food was great. Fresh squeezed orange juice, made in the juicer on the counter, to start. A friend and I shared the corned beef hash, along with eggs and and some pancakes. Everything was basic, but cooked well. It was exactly what we were looking for and there were no left overs. The prices were good as well.

Great patty melt. Onion rings are hand battered right before getting dropped in the fryer. Haven't done breakfast yet, but that's only a matter of time. It's a small place, but it seems like they move people in and out quickly. There are around 8 seats at the counter, plus another few high tops seating two apiece. Menu largely consists of breakfast standards, burgers, and soup. Come get some.

My friend and I definitely hesitated to go inside when we pulled up to this place.. Glad we gave it a try!! Super friendly staff and food is delicious! In the genre of greasy spoons/diner - this is FIVE STARS. Great ambiance. Great service. Cheap prices - and yes, GREAT FOOD. Omelettes are terrific, Greek salad with grilled chicken is really good and about 1/2 the price that you will find elsewhere. I love the egg, bacon, cheese sandwich - couldnt be anymore basic, but ooooh is it good. The owner is a great guy, community-service oriented and very personable - and IDK how he does it, but he seems to remember everyone's name. Try it, you'll def like it!

The reviews were accurate before mine. We were lucky and got a table right away. I could see how the small size would be annoying if there was a big crowd. Huge list of breakfast specials, plus all the normal findings. Had the country Benedict. Great sausage gravy. Breakfast tacos were great, and the other 2 meals were great also. Bathroom is tiny & in the kitchen, so hold it until you make it home!

I LOVE this place. Every time I used to pass it I would think to myself how sketchy this place looked and how I would literally never go there. It's got a very unimpressive yellow sign and it's part of a very creepy motel. But, my boyfriend told me he loved it and I had to check it out. It's a tiny hole and the owner, Alex, does all the cooking. It's so pleasant because he knows so many of his customers and it's like going over to your buddy's house to have him cook you breakfast. The food is always good and I've never had to wait long. Alex makes some really good soups and I recommend the corned beef hash.

I have been going to monty's for almost a decade and I can honestly say that if you are looking for an extremely reasonable and well-prepared breakfast served with smile and a laugh than this place is for you. Alex is a wizard on the grill and always has a smile every time. He always remembers people even if you've only been there a few times. There are always characters inside and its a small 12-seat diner/dive so be ready for some friendly conversation. Try the homemade soup too. Alex makes each batch. Great place. Great people.

Simple, delicious, timeless American breakfast. Alex is the main cook, he runs the place with his wife. They are Albanian and run a great little American diner. DON'T come here if you're looking for fresh inventive breakfast dishes with roomy seating. DO come here if you're looking for a hot cup of joe, an excellent omelette, and the best company. I'm moving away and am really going to miss Saturday mornings at Monty's!!

Everything you would want out of a surprise dive diner. Located in the parking lot of a shady hotel off Woodward, this locals diner has warm and friendly owners and cooks up an above-average diner breakfast. The wonderful corned beef hash could easily feed you for three meals. Very small, so I could see there being a wait. But we have never had a problem before 10 AM. One of our top breakfast choices for a classic diner breakfast.

Looking for a new breakfast place to try this weekend and came across the good reviews for Monty's. Alas, I ended up disappointed and I am sad. First, my main issue was the service. This place probably holds 20 people max and there were 2 waitresses working. We enter just as another couple were leaving and get directed to their seats (the only ones available). She takes our drinks order, all is well. I expected her back to wipe the table and give us silverware. Nope. Ok, I can over look that. I don't know if they were backed up in the kitchen or what, but our order seemed to take a long time (we each ordered 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns). I was able to finish my large OJ well before it arrived. Food finally comes and -- my order is wrong (received pancakes, not HB). Then, we sit and wait for silverware. Sigh...in reading this over, I know it sounds nit-picky but she really wasn't the best waitress. I'm pretty easy going, but damn, if you see your customers have made a tablecloth out of napkins...maybe ask why. And yes, to forestall the people who are gonna say, "Well, why didn't you ask her to clean it off?" I would have if she had asked us ANY follow up questions, i.e. "How is everything, Can I get you something else?" Nada. The food itself was good -- what I had was comparable to other diner type breakfasts. (FYI -- the hash browns are sliced potatoes). The fresh squeezed OJ was really, really good. In short, I will probably try this place again -- I'm hoping this was just a bad day and not business as usual.

I had intentions of hitting up the Original Pancake House for waffles but the line out the door sent us heading south to Ferndale until my girl mentioned her sister's favorite dive for breakfast. This spot has been bookmarked in my queue for years but I just haven't gotten here until now. It's next to a really skeevy motel but don't let that deter you at all. It's not much to look at and there isn't loads of seating but I'm really glad I found out what this place is about. We sat at the corner table and ordered omelets. I had the Corned Beef and Swiss with an English muffin and potatoes. Rose was our server and while she was engaged in some heavy conversation about her Yankees and our Tigers with the locals at the bar, she kept the coffee coming. My omelet was great. The corned beef here is legit. I'll be getting the hash next time around. I'm not sure what it was but something in my omelet had some spicy heat to it and it was just what I needed...hopefully that's the norm. The potatoes were great and they have Smucker's Strawberry so I was super happy. Definitely a breakfast spot we'll be back for. They don't have waffles and you may have to deal with some loud chatter but the food is legit and the prices are fair.

I want to emphasize again how awesome this place was. We went back this morning and had an even better set of dishes. Mine was -- get this -- a CHICKEN SALAD OMELETTE. Weird, right? BUT OH SO GOOD. And I watched him cook the chicken, chop up the veggies, and make the chicken salad to put into my omelette right in front of me. This is the epitome of fresh. Do yourself a HUGE favor and go here. Every day. Until your wallet or waistline can't handle it anymore. (Your wallet will be fine because everything is cheap. Waistline... yeah, that I cannot guarantee.)

Set in the location of a seedy motel, Monty's is shockingly safe on the inside. The omelletes were above average compared to most greasy spoons. Make sure you eat all of your potatos. You'll be under the assumption you don't like em'. They were great too just filling.

So, the funny thing is that I knew Monte as a child. He owned this tiny, greasy standalone diner right by the borders of Royal Oak and Berkley, in front of a seedy hotel. I remember the greasy burgers and though I liked them as a kid, they didn't make me want to go back as an adult. UNTIL!!!! I moved to Berkley, Monte's got a new owner (Alex) and they got some good Yelp reviews. So I thought, why not? I'm so glad I did. Alex let me custom make my own breakfast, which I modeled after Hippie Hash (the origin of which is from the Fleetwood in Ann Arbor). Hippie Hash is comprised of hash browns, feta cheese, mushrooms and other veggies- (at Monte's I add onions and green peppers to the mix while Fleetwood adds broccoli). This concoction is topped with two over medium eggs. Alex joked about putting it on the menu and I think we inspired other people to try. All I know is, I became a regular. Tiny spot, elbow to elbow with other patrons, but that's the charm. I miss Monte's and I have to go back, even though I don't live across the street anymore. You should go order it and he'll know we've talked.

A friend took me to Monty's a couple months ago and I now have become a regular. I have ordered many things off the menu and the food is great. Alex will make it anyway you want it. I find everyone that works their to be friendly and accommodating. Good food,good people,good atmosphere. What else can you ask for.

This place is near my house, but I never really gave it a second look until I read the Yelp reviews. The place lives up to the hype. I got the corned beef hash and it was absolutely delicious. The place is very small, and the food was prepared in front of me. I like that. The only reason my breakfast got 4 stars instead of 5 was that the corned beef was very thinly sliced, deli style. I would have appreciated more substantial chunks of corned beef in the hash. But other than that, I give the place two enthusiastic thumbs up.

So I've been by this seemingly shady mini restaurant attached to a motel on Woodward countless times. Only recently did I see on yelp they may be awesome. Not as shady on the inside as expected, but as small. Staff was very friendly. Menu was basic diner fare, but with am emphasis on homemade. I was a little concerned with some food storage sanitation practices (stacks of eggs just hanging out on the counter. Precooked sausages just under the flattop) but otherwise the place was mostly clean. I had the Corn Beef hash. It was fresh and pretty tasty. Thought it may have needed a touch more seasoning. The wife got a burger (fresh and well cooked) and some tasty hand dipped red onion rings. Service got a little sketchy (they were training a new server) and we didn't get the onion rings right away, or the requested side of ranch... And my drinks sat empty briefly. But Alex the cook brought out the rungs and was very personable. I want to come back and try more, like their homemade soups. But give this place a try. I'll take it over most if the diners or coneys in the area.

It's not fancy. It's not pretty. BUT the family that works there is nice, and the food is just right for when you just need some carbs and protein. I had the sausage omelette and the farmer's omelette. Both were tasty and filling. The coffee is your usual dive diner variety, but the refills come fast and often, so I wouldn't worry about it. It's easy to get skeeved out by the motel that is attached. When my friend first brought me here (found it on Yelp) I was skeptical. VERY skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised however, and I plan on coming back again. The only downside is the seating. Don't come here with bigger groups. If there are 4 of you the odds are that you'll have to split up depending on the time of day that you go. This is the perfect place to go with 2 people and stuff your face the morning after a long night out!

Once again, checking Yelp for a new place to go to smash eggs and sugary carbs in my hole after Church with my daughter and have been dying to check out Monty's for a while now. I live across Woodward from this place and have been scared of it for the past decade. Easy to get skeeved out by the hooker hotel (seriously, the nastiest "Hoe Tel" North of State Fair) Even though my expectations broke the roof (due to the reviews on Yelp) , we had a pretty decent breakfast. We were a little late in the early afternoon for the Sun AM rush and according to the wife (didn't get her name), we just missed a seriously packed house. Told Alex that I read on Yelp that I needed to substitute his corned beef hash for my hash browns and he was down....did however charge me extra but kinda expected that. My daughter had the french toast and bacon, both were excellent. I had the Gyro omelet with the CBH and both were OK....nothing too crazy, just OK. Alex and his wife were relatively nice....much nicer to the regulars who came in but that is to be expected. So, it was OK, probably will go again and take my wife to freak her shit out. (She hates new places, especially if you can buy meth at the hotel next door!)

While i have often had breakfast at Monty's, I was intrigued by the "best burger" claim in the window, so late morning today I decided to see what was behind the claim. I am a burger purist. Catsup, mustard, pickle chips, and onion. I chose cheddar cheese and medium doneness. Since you can see your food prepared, I watched. The burger looked to be approximstely 1/3 pound snd started out approximately 1 inch thick of freshly ground beef. It wa served exactly the way I requested. The meat was juicy and the cheese melted completely sealing the top of the burger. The pickle chips as opposed to a dill spear completely covered the bun and the onion was sufficient to do so also. I had the breakfast hash browns (really fried potatoes on the grill) as the accompaniement. OUTSTANDING!! There are several near by restsurants that have fancy burgers. I have tried them all and none hold a candle to Alex's burger.

Have been going here for more years than I want to admit - it is by no means a greasy spoon - I was worried when Esther left - but thank the dear Lord - nothing has changed - had veggie omelette spinach, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, etc. all cut perfectly and ole Alex could teach those fools on Hell's Kitchen how to do a proper egg. This is one of the first places I discovered for breakfast in the area, after moving from AZ this past summer. Small, homey diner. A party greater than 3 or 4 might have problems sitting together. Always friendly service. Food is fresh and delicious. The fluffy egg white omelette (not on the menu specifically, you just ask for it when ordering any of them) is my favorite thing to order. I almost hate to review it because the wait seems to be getting longer on the weekends, but they deserve the recognition and praise.

This is the best breakfast in the royal oak to Birmingham area. Don't let the outside appearance effect you: Alex makes so e really good food! Breakfast all day: we ordered the corned beef hash special. It's very well executed with no greasy leftover. (see photo). We also tried the clam chowder and rice pudding, and honestly , no one does it better. Looking for healthy? Alex can do anything with egg whites or egg eaters, including a Greek omelette with spinach, tomato and feta. Good coffee, fresh juice. Don't miss it.

What can we say, Alex has one of those places that I've been looking for; a local diner with really good food and small-town feel. My eleven year old son loves the lamb gyros and thinks he finally found the best rice pudding ever made. The Broadway Burger is excellent, so is the apple pie (made by Alex's mom), and of course Alex's home made rice pudding. We have a new tradition of lunch at Monty's every Saturday that we can make it.

It pains me to give this little place only 3 stars, but fair is fair. The food is solid diner breakfast stuff, which is wonderful for those tough Sunday mornings after a long night out. However, for cheap greasy food, we love going to this place. It's where everybody knows your name, and you can get unlimited coffee refills from the same waitress day in and day out. I'm a big corned beef hash fan, while my friends generally opt for the feta omelet. It does have the unfortunate detail of being located next to some sketchy-looking, possibly-by-the-hour motels on Woodward. What can I say though? If ratings came down to where I actually went, rather than what I thought of the food quality, this would be 6 stars, extra because I also frequent Goodfellows for my haircuts.

Monty's Grill is diner dive at it's best. You can get delicious heaping plate-fulls of delicious breakfast (or lunch) food for dirt cheap. This kind of place has regulars. And there's a reason folks. They know that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get a really tasty well cooked meal. Sure it's attached to a sketchy motel/hotel...but that gives it character. It's one of those brown mug laminate wood counter top type diners and I personally love that. No frills, no pretense. Just breakfast, or lunch if that's your thing. I love coming to places like this on a lazy Sunday, have some eggs and toast and call it a day. My husband got the corned beef hash and was raving about it. I like to just get two eggs over easy with hash browns and some toast. That's my divey dinner "go-to". I saw some omelets come off the skillet and they looked super tasty. We went once for lunch and I got the small greek salad and had enough leftover for lunch the next day. The owners are super friendly and remember you if you stop in more than once. Overall, Monty's is one friendly neighborhood diner, with great food at a great value. Gotta. Love. THAT!

Don't be fooled by the location (connected to a motel) - the food here is great. I've only been here for breakfast but the place is always packed on weekend mornings. I had the omlette which was good and extremely affordable (cheaper than Coney w/better quality). Would recommend for breakfast!!

There are key things to remember with Monty's... 1. We have all likely driven by it thousands of times and it's attached to a sketchy motel on Woodward in Royal Oak. 2. If it's been there so long and it's remained open, they must be doing something right, right? I'm a big fan of small diner type places because they succeed only if they bring in loyal people. This is one of those places that Guy should visit on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Alex is a great chef - not just a run-of-the-mill cook. He's doing things from scratch, he pays attention to the details and gets them right. Angie is a sweetheart and you feel like they've got a ton of pride in serving you. So why go? The deals are decent, the food is well prepared - Alex flipping made a Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter with banana slices cut to make eyes and a smile - beat that anywhere. The corned beef hash is all done to order and FRESH. Everything seemed fresh and carefully made. The seating is small, counter seats and a few side tables attached to the wall if you want a wonderful Woodward/Parking lot view. This place is old-school, decor probably as old as I am but who cares? That's the charm, this place has been around a long time but it's humming inside with two people who get it and make it great. It's like a new engine was dropped in a little unassuming car and it's surprisingly fun. Go for breakfast and a smile, the people are nice and you'll be able to tell people that little grill next to the sketchy motel ROCKS.

Man. I feel like I really need to give this place another try after all of the excellent reviews. I decided to order the veggie pita here, and had no idea it was grilled. I really couldn't eat most of it..I am not a huge fan of grilled zucchini, and there was a large amount of it on the pita. I guess maybe they should ask if you want it cold or grilled first. I remember feeling a little upset after paying the bill because it was pretty high for the small amount of food we ordered, and I wasn't very satisfied with my meal. It's definitely a cute little place, and I'd like to give it another try soon.

Attached to a retro looking Motel so be careful not to miss it! WONDERFUL in 3 ways... 1. Very quick/friendly service brought to you by the owner and his wife. 2. Delicious food! My husband kept pressuring me to try Monty's for quite some time and finally after a glowing review by a neighbor we decided to give it a try. What a FANTASTIC surprise. Wish I would have taken elementary school advice and didn't judge a book by it's cover. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and there was plenty of healthy options to choose from as well. The vintage decor was adorable and the staff was as nice and friendly as you can get. Alex and Andrea are so welcoming you feel like you're being invited into their home. I almost hate to share this gem with others for fear we wont have any seat available on our weekly visits.

As an avid breakfast lover, I had the pleasure of going to this reopened Royal Oak classic for the first time today. I've driven by Monte's for years, but never stopped in..and I wish I would've sooner. Monte's was fantastic in the way that a small diner should be. The owndes, Alex and Angie were great and welcoming, the Greek Omlet that I had was delicious and the hashbrowns crispy and perfect, and it was a real treat. Going there with a long-time Monte fan who has been a staple in the restaurant for 22 years helped. Though it looks small on the outside and has a limited menu, it is good at what it does and was an enjoyable breakfast and lunch for my friends and I. I'm a big fan and will be back for the delicious breakfast or the equaly tasty lunches on the menu. A great diner with all the right mood and menu. I definitely recommend this local staple if you're in the area.

Ok I went to "Monty's Grill" now named I think it is called "Broody's on Saturday. It is this tiny little diner. It had a few tables, but it is one of those places you just sit at the counter and eat. I got 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, bacon and coffee for $4.98. The food was good and so was the coffee. It was nothing special. I was told the lady that used to own "Monty's Gill" retired and sold the place. The prices are just like any other coney island.

So I've been by this seemingly shady mini restaurant attached to a motel on Woodward countless times. Only recently did I see on yelp they may be awesome. Not as shady on the inside as expected, but as small. Staff was very friendly. Menu was basic diner fare, but with am emphasis on homemade. I was a little concerned with some food storage sanitation practices (stacks of eggs just hanging out on the counter. Precooked sausages just under the flattop) but otherwise the place was mostly clean. I had the Corn Beef hash. It was fresh and pretty tasty. Thought it may have needed a touch more seasoning. The wife got a burger (fresh and well cooked) and some tasty hand dipped red onion rings. Service got a little sketchy (they were training a new server) and we didn't get the onion rings right away, or the requested side of ranch... And my drinks sat empty briefly. But Alex the cook brought out the rungs and was very personable. I want to come back and try more, like their homemade soups. But give this place a try. I'll take it over most if the diners or coneys in the area.

It's not fancy. It's not pretty. BUT the family that works there is nice, and the food is just right for when you just need some carbs and protein. I had the sausage omelette and the farmer's omelette. Both were tasty and filling. The coffee is your usual dive diner variety, but the refills come fast and often, so I wouldn't worry about it. It's easy to get skeeved out by the motel that is attached. When my friend first brought me here (found it on Yelp) I was skeptical. VERY skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised however, and I plan on coming back again. The only downside is the seating. Don't come here with bigger groups. If there are 4 of you the odds are that you'll have to split up depending on the time of day that you go. This is the perfect place to go with 2 people and stuff your face the morning after a long night out!

A very small but clean diner attached to a run down motel off busy Woodward Avenue. Very cramped and limited seating. The staff is friendly and fast. The breakfast food is really great quality tasty diner food. My wife says the hash browns are the best she has ever had. Good value for the money. The one slightly odd thing is they do not have a soda pop machine, so they serve from cans. Fresh squeezed OJ, from a machine on the counter in front of you. Strongly recommend.

I'm fairly new to Monty's Grill. Just had my 2nd visit this week. This place is exactly what I want in a diner, pub, or restaurant. The service is friendly and fast, The food is really good, and the prices are decent. On my first visit, I let the waitress order for me. She brought me a BBQ burger with onion rings. When considering the price and taste, it isn't that far off from a Red Coat burger. Nice thick patty, toasted bun and standard toppings based on burger. I'm not a huge fan of onion rings but I found myself going back and continuously eating them. This place is definitely a regulars place as everyone seems to know everyone. Nothing wrong with this. The burger is good enough for me to order the exact same one on my last visit...Yeah, and I got the onion rings again. I did read that from 7-9 all omelettes are 4.99. I believe omelettes come with hash browns and toast. I can see myself becoming a regular.

My wife and I love Monty's Grill for both breakfast and lunch. Alex makes all of Monty's meats from scratch. From corned beef to gyro meat to prime Angus beef for the burgers - all of the food is of the highest quality and scratch made. You owe it to yourself to try it at least once before listening to any of the negative reviews. Quite a few Yelpers left less than five stars for this amazing diner because of a lack of seating. Monty's may only have seating for 30 or less, but it boasts amazing food. If it was a bigger establishment, Alex wouldn't be able to make amazing, scratch-made breakfast and lunch meals! Alex will always greet you with a smile. He will most likely remember your name and what you like to eat within a few visits. Try it. You'll love it!

Cool little dive spot with classic food. This spot is small, but big on personality. The staff is very friendly. Seriously this place looks like it could be on episode of Drive Ins, Diners, & Dives. I kept waiting for Guy to walk of the back. I ordered the Broadway burger (cheese, bacon, & bbq sauce) with fries. Nothing extra special about it, but was definitely tasty. I recommend this spot especially after a long night of hanging out. If you visit please leave the kids at home. Not a family restaurant type of place. If you're overly bougie this isn't the place for you either. Remember it's a DIVE!

Great patty melt. Onion rings are hand battered right before getting dropped in the fryer. Haven't done breakfast yet, but that's only a matter of time. It's a small place, but it seems like they move people in and out quickly. There are around 8 seats at the counter, plus another few high tops seating two apiece. Menu largely consists of breakfast standards, burgers, and soup. Come get some.

Go ahead and add me to the list of Monty's customers that have been coming here for a long time. First started coming here with my family in the mid-80's. It was also a favorite haunt while skipping class (High School) in the mid-90's. While I remain nostalgic for the bacon-wrapped hot dog of glory of yesterday (aka the Swanky Franky), I can say with confidence that the food at Monty's has never been better than it has since Alex took over the place. He puts a lot of TLC into the menu and into every single dish that he prepares. You can taste the love as well as the quality of the ingredients used. Monty's is now an old-school classic small diner with just the right amount of new-school flair. Good honest atmosphere and good honest food. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Corned Beef Hash is exceptional. So are the Omelettes. If you enjoy the corned beef hash, let me recommend the corned beef & swiss omelette. Or the gyro omelette. Or any of Alex's omelettes, really. They are exceptional. And if you come in between 7a-9a on M-F the omelettes are all only $4.95! That's a total steal for the early-birds. They'll run you a couple bucks or so more during regular hours and are still a good deal even at the normal price. I haven't tried anything off Alex's lunch menu yet but everything looks great and I will definitely get around to trying it one of these days. If you've driven past this place 1,000 times and always wondered what's inside, I encourage you to stop wondering and stop in. You won't be disappointed.

A classic! A tiny spot - a little tired but clean - or maybe it felt tired because it's attached to a run down (is it really still operating?) motel off busy Woodward Avenue. Exactly what I was looking for - homemade CB hash and nicely executed over easy eggs. Good coffee, nice service - a great diner experience. Was there on a Tuesday late morning - so no problem getting a seat.

Monty's is connected to the Seville motel that looks pretty dumpy, and weirdly enough there are no vacancy's. The dinner it's self was great, the waitress was good and my omelette was very tasty the hashbrowns were good and the toast was also good. Very filling with that down home feeling. I will definitely be back. Give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed, I wasn't.

In the genre of greasy spoons/diner - this is FIVE STARS. Great ambiance. Great service. Cheap prices - and yes, GREAT FOOD. Omelettes are terrific, Greek salad with grilled chicken is really good and about 1/2 the price that you will find elsewhere. I love the egg, bacon, cheese sandwich - couldnt be anymore basic, but ooooh is it good. The owner is a great guy, community-service oriented and very personable - and IDK how he does it, but he seems to remember everyone's name. Try it, you'll def like it!

Monty's- If my life was Seinfeld and I was Seinfeld and Royal Oak was New York City and my Dogs were George Costanza and Elaine Bennis then Monty's would be my Monk's. I love this place. It makes me feel like I'm a character in a sitcom or a movie. Alex, the proprietor, the cook, the psychologist, the confidant, the server, the man in charge has a cult-like following where everyone knows his name. Keep your eyes open when you're driving up Woodward for this one. You might miss it. Monty's with the yellow trim is really incognito in the most charming way a tiny little coney attached to a sleazy looking 60s box motel in Metro Detroit can be. And it's right up the street from me. I'm here all the time. Plus, the food is usually pretty good. I'm partial to rare sliders, the turkey club, the hand-dipped onion rings, and stack of chocolate chip pancakes. There is a fantastic secret menu too, but we don't talk about things like that round here.

Totally agree with everyone else- I would have never tried this diner at a sleazy motel had I not read the reviews, but we will definitely be returning! The clam chowder was EXCELLENT, and the onion rings were top notch as well. My boyfriend loved his mini breakfast platter, which wasn't very mini at all.

I may have never stopped at this small diner, or really noticed it to stop, if not for reading the yelp reviews. And I'm glad I did. I was looking for a greasy-diner-type breakfast place along with some friends. We wanted somewhere where we did not have to wait at least a half hour on a Sunday (not an easy feat in this area). From the outside, the place looks sketchy, attached to a cheap motel. Inside, however, it is a pleasant, quite small, diner. The few tables are high tops that seat two. The four of us sat at the counter. The young waitresses were friendly and the service was good. The food was great. Fresh squeezed orange juice, made in the juicer on the counter, to start. A friend and I shared the corned beef hash, along with eggs and and some pancakes. Everything was basic, but cooked well. It was exactly what we were looking for and there were no left overs. The prices were good as well.

The reviews were accurate before mine. We were lucky and got a table right away. I could see how the small size would be annoying if there was a big crowd. Huge list of breakfast specials, plus all the normal findings. Had the country Benedict. Great sausage gravy. Breakfast tacos were great, and the other 2 meals were great also. Bathroom is tiny & in the kitchen, so hold it until you make it home!

I LOVE this place. Every time I used to pass it I would think to myself how sketchy this place looked and how I would literally never go there. It's got a very unimpressive yellow sign and it's part of a very creepy motel. But, my boyfriend told me he loved it and I had to check it out. It's a tiny hole and the owner, Alex, does all the cooking. It's so pleasant because he knows so many of his customers and it's like going over to your buddy's house to have him cook you breakfast. The food is always good and I've never had to wait long. Alex makes some really good soups and I recommend the corned beef hash.

I have been going to monty's for almost a decade and I can honestly say that if you are looking for an extremely reasonable and well-prepared breakfast served with smile and a laugh than this place is for you. Alex is a wizard on the grill and always has a smile every time. He always remembers people even if you've only been there a few times. There are always characters inside and its a small 12-seat diner/dive so be ready for some friendly conversation. Try the homemade soup too. Alex makes each batch. Great place. Great people.

This is the ultimate little diner! The food is incredible, nothing pretentious, just delicious. I suggest the "Great Kielbasa Omelette" with chocolate chip pancakes, The staff is so friendly, and they go out of there way to make you feel welcome. I cannot think of a better breakfast spot.

Simple, delicious, timeless American breakfast. Alex is the main cook, he runs the place with his wife. They are Albanian and run a great little American diner. DON'T come here if you're looking for fresh inventive breakfast dishes with roomy seating. DO come here if you're looking for a hot cup of joe, an excellent omelette, and the best company. I'm moving away and am really going to miss Saturday mornings at Monty's!!

Looking for a new breakfast place to try this weekend and came across the good reviews for Monty's. Alas, I ended up disappointed and I am sad. First, my main issue was the service. This place probably holds 20 people max and there were 2 waitresses working. We enter just as another couple were leaving and get directed to their seats (the only ones available). She takes our drinks order, all is well. I expected her back to wipe the table and give us silverware. Nope. Ok, I can over look that. I don't know if they were backed up in the kitchen or what, but our order seemed to take a long time (we each ordered 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns). I was able to finish my large OJ well before it arrived. Food finally comes and -- my order is wrong (received pancakes, not HB). Then, we sit and wait for silverware. Sigh...in reading this over, I know it sounds nit-picky but she really wasn't the best waitress. I'm pretty easy going, but damn, if you see your customers have made a tablecloth out of napkins...maybe ask why. And yes, to forestall the people who are gonna say, "Well, why didn't you ask her to clean it off?" I would have if she had asked us ANY follow up questions, i.e. "How is everything, Can I get you something else?" Nada. The food itself was good -- what I had was comparable to other diner type breakfasts. (FYI -- the hash browns are sliced potatoes). The fresh squeezed OJ was really, really good. In short, I will probably try this place again -- I'm hoping this was just a bad day and not business as usual.

I had intentions of hitting up the Original Pancake House for waffles but the line out the door sent us heading south to Ferndale until my girl mentioned her sister's favorite dive for breakfast. This spot has been bookmarked in my queue for years but I just haven't gotten here until now. It's next to a really skeevy motel but don't let that deter you at all. It's not much to look at and there isn't loads of seating but I'm really glad I found out what this place is about. We sat at the corner table and ordered omelets. I had the Corned Beef and Swiss with an English muffin and potatoes. Rose was our server and while she was engaged in some heavy conversation about her Yankees and our Tigers with the locals at the bar, she kept the coffee coming. My omelet was great. The corned beef here is legit. I'll be getting the hash next time around. I'm not sure what it was but something in my omelet had some spicy heat to it and it was just what I needed...hopefully that's the norm. The potatoes were great and they have Smucker's Strawberry so I was super happy. Definitely a breakfast spot we'll be back for. They don't have waffles and you may have to deal with some loud chatter but the food is legit and the prices are fair.

I want to emphasize again how awesome this place was. We went back this morning and had an even better set of dishes. Mine was -- get this -- a CHICKEN SALAD OMELETTE. Weird, right? BUT OH SO GOOD. And I watched him cook the chicken, chop up the veggies, and make the chicken salad to put into my omelette right in front of me. This is the epitome of fresh. Do yourself a HUGE favor and go here. Every day. Until your wallet or waistline can't handle it anymore. (Your wallet will be fine because everything is cheap. Waistline... yeah, that I cannot guarantee.)

Everything you would want out of a surprise dive diner. Located in the parking lot of a shady hotel off Woodward, this locals diner has warm and friendly owners and cooks up an above-average diner breakfast. The wonderful corned beef hash could easily feed you for three meals. Very small, so I could see there being a wait. But we have never had a problem before 10 AM. One of our top breakfast choices for a classic diner breakfast.

Set in the location of a seedy motel, Monty's is shockingly safe on the inside. The omelletes were above average compared to most greasy spoons. Make sure you eat all of your potatos. You'll be under the assumption you don't like em'. They were great too just filling.

So, the funny thing is that I knew Monte as a child. He owned this tiny, greasy standalone diner right by the borders of Royal Oak and Berkley, in front of a seedy hotel. I remember the greasy burgers and though I liked them as a kid, they didn't make me want to go back as an adult. UNTIL!!!! I moved to Berkley, Monte's got a new owner (Alex) and they got some good Yelp reviews. So I thought, why not? I'm so glad I did. Alex let me custom make my own breakfast, which I modeled after Hippie Hash (the origin of which is from the Fleetwood in Ann Arbor). Hippie Hash is comprised of hash browns, feta cheese, mushrooms and other veggies- (at Monte's I add onions and green peppers to the mix while Fleetwood adds broccoli). This concoction is topped with two over medium eggs. Alex joked about putting it on the menu and I think we inspired other people to try. All I know is, I became a regular. Tiny spot, elbow to elbow with other patrons, but that's the charm. I miss Monte's and I have to go back, even though I don't live across the street anymore. You should go order it and he'll know we've talked.

A friend took me to Monty's a couple months ago and I now have become a regular. I have ordered many things off the menu and the food is great. Alex will make it anyway you want it. I find everyone that works their to be friendly and accommodating. Good food,good people,good atmosphere. What else can you ask for.

Once again, checking Yelp for a new place to go to smash eggs and sugary carbs in my hole after Church with my daughter and have been dying to check out Monty's for a while now. I live across Woodward from this place and have been scared of it for the past decade. Easy to get skeeved out by the hooker hotel (seriously, the nastiest "Hoe Tel" North of State Fair) Even though my expectations broke the roof (due to the reviews on Yelp) , we had a pretty decent breakfast. We were a little late in the early afternoon for the Sun AM rush and according to the wife (didn't get her name), we just missed a seriously packed house. Told Alex that I read on Yelp that I needed to substitute his corned beef hash for my hash browns and he was down....did however charge me extra but kinda expected that. My daughter had the french toast and bacon, both were excellent. I had the Gyro omelet with the CBH and both were OK....nothing too crazy, just OK. Alex and his wife were relatively nice....much nicer to the regulars who came in but that is to be expected. So, it was OK, probably will go again and take my wife to freak her shit out. (She hates new places, especially if you can buy meth at the hotel next door!)

This place is near my house, but I never really gave it a second look until I read the Yelp reviews. The place lives up to the hype. I got the corned beef hash and it was absolutely delicious. The place is very small, and the food was prepared in front of me. I like that. The only reason my breakfast got 4 stars instead of 5 was that the corned beef was very thinly sliced, deli style. I would have appreciated more substantial chunks of corned beef in the hash. But other than that, I give the place two enthusiastic thumbs up.

While i have often had breakfast at Monty's, I was intrigued by the "best burger" claim in the window, so late morning today I decided to see what was behind the claim. I am a burger purist. Catsup, mustard, pickle chips, and onion. I chose cheddar cheese and medium doneness. Since you can see your food prepared, I watched. The burger looked to be approximstely 1/3 pound snd started out approximately 1 inch thick of freshly ground beef. It wa served exactly the way I requested. The meat was juicy and the cheese melted completely sealing the top of the burger. The pickle chips as opposed to a dill spear completely covered the bun and the onion was sufficient to do so also. I had the breakfast hash browns (really fried potatoes on the grill) as the accompaniement. OUTSTANDING!! There are several near by restsurants that have fancy burgers. I have tried them all and none hold a candle to Alex's burger.

Have been going here for more years than I want to admit - it is by no means a greasy spoon - I was worried when Esther left - but thank the dear Lord - nothing has changed - had veggie omelette spinach, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, etc. all cut perfectly and ole Alex could teach those fools on Hell's Kitchen how to do a proper egg. THE HASH BROWNS ARE REAL. One place I feel totally comfortable on my own. Don't tell anyone but if you sneak in one of those One Dollar bottle of vodka you can have a screwdriver with fresh OJ.

Don't be fooled by the location (connected to a motel) - the food here is great. I've only been here for breakfast but the place is always packed on weekend mornings. I had the omlette which was good and extremely affordable (cheaper than Coney w/better quality). Would recommend for breakfast!!

There are key things to remember with Monty's... 1. We have all likely driven by it thousands of times and it's attached to a sketchy motel on Woodward in Royal Oak. 2. If it's been there so long and it's remained open, they must be doing something right, right? I'm a big fan of small diner type places because they succeed only if they bring in loyal people. This is one of those places that Guy should visit on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Alex is a great chef - not just a run-of-the-mill cook. He's doing things from scratch, he pays attention to the details and gets them right. Angie is a sweetheart and you feel like they've got a ton of pride in serving you. So why go? The deals are decent, the food is well prepared - Alex flipping made a Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter with banana slices cut to make eyes and a smile - beat that anywhere. The corned beef hash is all done to order and FRESH. Everything seemed fresh and carefully made. The seating is small, counter seats and a few side tables attached to the wall if you want a wonderful Woodward/Parking lot view. This place is old-school, decor probably as old as I am but who cares? That's the charm, this place has been around a long time but it's humming inside with two people who get it and make it great. It's like a new engine was dropped in a little unassuming car and it's surprisingly fun. Go for breakfast and a smile, the people are nice and you'll be able to tell people that little grill next to the sketchy motel ROCKS.

Man. I feel like I really need to give this place another try after all of the excellent reviews. I decided to order the veggie pita here, and had no idea it was grilled. I really couldn't eat most of it..I am not a huge fan of grilled zucchini, and there was a large amount of it on the pita. I guess maybe they should ask if you want it cold or grilled first. I remember feeling a little upset after paying the bill because it was pretty high for the small amount of food we ordered, and I wasn't very satisfied with my meal. It's definitely a cute little place, and I'd like to give it another try soon.

Attached to a retro looking Motel so be careful not to miss it! WONDERFUL in 3 ways... 1. Very quick/friendly service brought to you by the owner and his wife. 2. Delicious food! I had the home made corned beef hash and my husband had the farmers omlette. Both amazing. 3. Small old-school diner-ish feel. Mostly counter space and small tables. Even the patrons were friendly and moved to offer new-comers seats.

I love this place!! Alex is an awesome guy that happens to cook amazingly well. The place is very homey and, although there can be a bitter person or two once in a while, it's typically a lax environment. Don't expect a huge table. Be lucky if you get a seat at the counter. Ok I went to "Monty's Grill" now named I think it is called "Broody's on Saturday. It is this tiny little diner. It had a few tables, but it is one of those places you just sit at the counter and eat. I got 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, bacon and coffee for $4.98. The food was good and so was the coffee. It was nothing special. I was told the lady that used to own "Monty's Gill" retired and sold the place. The prices are just like any other coney island.

For what it is (i.e. a true dive of a neighborhood diner), Monty's is as good as it gets. Nestled comfortably next to the not-so-comfortable-looking Seville Motel block (a great hang-out if you are lonely, in need of company, and are willing to pay for it), not only is the location perfect for a dive, but the interior consists almost exclusively of the open kitchen and the bar with bolted-to-the-floor barstools, completing the equation. A couple of tables sit beside the windows for those seeking an outward-looking vista: all the better to take in the luxuriant parking lot and the thousands of jalopies choking their way down Woodward Ave. If the above description discourages you, well, you're clearly not the diner type. But even if you are discouraged, once you walk through the doorways, you'll find shelter from the sad storm outside and smile. It's your first time here, and everybody already knows your name. Gayle, who was working this Easter morning with Albanian Alex (the owner), aptly paralleled the ambiance of Monty's with that of the Bull & Finch Pub in Boston (where Cheers was ostensibly set--it was the exterior model that all the shots were taken of--the inside was, of course, a set). I walked in here for the first time today and left knowing all of the staff's names, and I'm confident that when I come back, they'll remember mine. In other words, if you're feeling lonely, but not for sex, or you're just kinda hungry for some good eats, keep walking through the Seville parking lot and eat at Monty's: it's cheaper, legal, and safe. You probably want to know about the food, too, since you're likely going to be eating here. I suspect I need not remind you--this is diner food, which means breakfast food and your assortment of coney-island-type fare. They serve breakfast all day, and I can't imagine coming here for any other type of food, except maybe a burger (which I can't vouch for, but will probably have next time I'm craving some flesh). It's hard to really fuck up breakfast food, but there's definitely still a wide range of quality and ability when it comes to serving up over-easy eggs, omelets, and hashbrowns. The portions here are generous, the ratio of grease to food acceptable, the prices rock-bottom (The early-bird-special is a must--I don't remember the details because looking at how much food I could purchase for $3 dollars was intoxicating), and the eggs perfectly cooked. I know this because my sister had a minced-ham hash with over-easy eggs on top and the huevos were cooked perfectly. I was a bit more adventurous. Have you ever heard of a chicken-salad omelet? Me either. It sounds revolting, frankly, but Gayle swung my vote from corned-beef hash to this weird medley of chicken-salad-inside-a-veggie-omelet and it was delicious. It's not on the menu but it will be soon, so if you want to enjoy the cool factor associated with ordering off-menu, you'd better hustle over to Monty's quick. The omelet was probably 3 eggs into which were mixed tomatoes and onions (salt, pepper, etc.). Inside I found a creamy, warmed-up chicken salad concoction and other vegetables, plus swiss cheese. Again, I realize that this sounds very strange, and I've never seen such an item offered anywhere else, but I would (and will) happily eat this again. I guess it's a sort of secret specialty here. They also offered fried matzah with scrambled eggs and veggies, which is a lot like chilaquiles, but Jewish (sort of, unless you get it with ham, which is really good but no longer particularly Jewish). I fully intend to take my little sister here on my way to work, before she has to go to school in the morning. It's the kind of place where you could bring your kid sister or nurse a hangover and feel completely comfortable and content. Despite the drab surroundings, Monty's glitters like a silver dollar buried under playground woodchips, sits there as though it had jumped out of an unsuspecting boy's torn jeans pocket and is sort of indifferent as to whether it gets picked up by someone else--it's happy to be close to the earth. Monty's has heart. It has it's own heart, and now it has a piece of mine too.

Great place for cheap eats! Wonderful owners, as well. Lots of regulars here, including me. Doesn't look like a place you'd consider trying from the looks of the outside (being part of a motel and all), but I highly recommend this cute little diner. Only open til 4pm.
